Mechanism of Action

Citrate has chelate-free calcium ions that inhibit the activation of cascades forming blood coagulation. The chelates of citrate prevent blood clotting cascades to form complex tissue and coagulating factor; VIIa. This ceases the introduction of the coagulation cascade.

Moreover, the sodium citrate formula and chemical mechanism lower the acidic effect in the stomach and urine by increasing the pH factor. Citrate has a weak base; hence reacts promptly with the HCL present in the human stomach to enhance pH in blood and urine.
It increases the elimination of calcium through the urine due to its diuretic nature.
