Cause of Spasm Pain
Hyoscine Butylbromide has anticholinergic action that has a spasmolytic effect. Spasm pain occurs in human beings due to blockade in the muscarinic receptors present in the GI tract causing secondary cramping. Hyoscine Butylbromide uses is increasing widely as about 13% of females and 9% of males are suffering from abdominal pain.
Mechanism of Action
Scopolamine Butylbromide or Hyoscine Butylbromide binds with M3 or muscarinic receptors of the parasympathetic nervous system present in the gastrointestinal tract. This action inhibits the bond of acetylcholine with these receptors and results in the deactivation of smooth muscle contraction.The process of inhibition reduces spasm pain and abnormal muscular cramp.
